Gather Your Documents

Before you open the portal, prepare your files. The portal times out quickly if left idle.

Passport Bio Page

  • • Format: PDF only
  • • Size: 10KB minimum - 300KB maximum
  • • Details must be legible

Digital Photo

  • • Format: JPEG only
  • • Dimensions: Square (Equal height/width)
  • • Background: Plain white (no shadows)

Complete the Online Form

The form requires detailed personal information:

  • Visible Identification Marks: Scars or moles. If none, write "NONE".
  • Parents' Details: Names and nationalities are mandatory even if parents are deceased.
  • Reference in India: Provide the address/number of your hotel or tour operator.

Pay the Fee

You will be redirected to the SBI e-Pay or Axis Bank gateway. These gateways can be temperamental with foreign credit cards. If your card fails, allow 2-4 hours before trying again, or try PayPal. Fees are strictly non-refundable.

Print the ETA

Once approved (usually within 72 hours), you will receive an "Electronic Travel Authorization" (ETA) via email stating your status is "GRANTED". You must print this physical piece of paper to present to check-in staff at the airport and immigration officers in India.
